A born-and-raised Corpus Christi local brwho pursued an education in finance and brhas been in the world of banking for over 22 bryears, Gabe Guerra is passionate about our brcommunity. In April 2014, Guerra was named brthe president of Kleberg Bank, and was bradditionally named CEO in April 2018.

Prior to Kleberg Bank, Guerra had brexperience with a mega bank, and he credits brvaluable insights to that experience. “That brperspective has helped me understand our brvalue and how community banks are a life brblood to the community,” said Guerra.

With that appreciation at heart, Guerra brwas naturally drawn to the core beliefs of brKleberg Bank.

“The vision and mission of our bank bris to be indispensable to the communities brwe serve. We’re here to help to build our brcommunity, in a spirit of cooperation.” brsaid Guerra. “I believe that our success is brembedded in our ability to help.”

Guerra is proud to lead and encourage an brorganization rooted in philanthropic efforts. brIt regularly presents checks to nonprofit brgroups and organizations, such as $5,000 brto the Veterans Band of Corpus Christi in brDecember 2021. It supports initiatives and organizations, as well as develops its own, brsuch as the collaboration with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to help students brjumpstart their careers at Kleberg Bank.

Guerra is further investing in the brcommunity through his brand-new role as a Port of Corpus Christi commissioner. He was brsworn in January 2022 into this role, which brcarries a 3-year term with a maximum of four brterms. Commissioners carry out the critical brrole of supervising the budget, infrastructure brinvestment and broad-scale policies of the brPort.

“I’m looking forward to helping serve brthe citizens of our region,” said Guerra. “It’s bra primary economic engine in our region, brand I’m extremely proud and excited and brhumbled to be a part of it.”

Guerra also recently stepped into an brappointment as director to the Federal brReserve Bank, Dallas-San Antonio branch. br“It’s a big honor to represent Corpus Christi bras a director of the board.”

Looking ahead, Guerra is energized brabout the future. “I think the community will brcontinue to evolve and diversify. What I hope brto see is continued attraction of business and brcommerce and opportunities for our people.”
