You likely pass a Turner | Ramirez buildingbrevery week. From Kleberg Bank on StaplesbrStreet to Volkswagen on S.P.I.D., this firm isbrleaving a deep impression on our community.brTurner | Ramirez is a full-service architecture, brplanning and design firm that opened in 1958brand is headquartered in Corpus Christi, withbroffices in San Antonio and clients that spanbrnationally and internationally.br

br

Led by president and principal architectbrPhilip Ramirez, the firm sees dozens of projectsbrper year, including architectural programmingbrand design, project management, bondbrplanning and construction administration.brIt offers sustainable designs and LEEDbrcommissioning, which stands for Leadershipbrin Energy and Environmental Design.br

br

Its services have rendered state-of-brthe-art facilities and instantly recognizablebrlandmarks in the community. For Ramirez, brit’s all about the effect that good design canbrcreate for those inside. “I think with attractingbrand retaining people, change can be broughtbrforth through the physical environmentbrthat we spend so much time in and around.brHopefully, the work that we do through Turnerbr| Ramirez all builds upon that to make the citybrsomething even greater.”br

br

Ramirez is passionate about thebrcommunity, and actively involved: He sitsbron the governing board of Driscoll Children’sbrHospital, is on the executive committee of the Art Museum of South Texas, is a pastbrchair and executive committee member ofbrThe CCREDC board of directors and hasbrserved as chair of the United Corpus ChristibrChamber of Commerce.

br

Although he’s already achieved a greatbrdeal, Ramirez is just heating up. Projectsbrunder construction include the Texas StatebrAquarium’s Wildlife Rescue Center and DelbrMar College’s New South Side Campus. Onebrof the firm’s newest and biggest initiatives isbrthe purchase of an area of downtown CorpusbrChristi—along with a partner, it has acquiredbra section nearly 2/3 of a city block that willbrbecome a mixed-use redevelopment project.br

br

While these herculean endeavors arebrgroundbreaking, Ramirez considers it partbrof a bigger picture. “Everything that we do isbrjust one piece of that big, broader puzzle. Itbrtakes a village, as they say. It takes a wholebrcommunity to come together and move usbrforward,” said Ramirez. “This is just one morebrpiece of that puzzle to bring the communitybrforward.”br

br

There’s no doubt that Turner | Ramirezbrwill continue to make an impression on ourbrcommunity over the next 10 years—and forbrdecades to come. “We have such a fantasticbrfoundation to move the community forward, brto be something greater and provide thosebropportunities for the next generation. We canbrachieve so much in this community.”
